The intention of this site is to provide information which will allow anyone involved in specifying or designing furniture (both fixed and loose) to buy the most appropriately sized items for their intended audience.
Visitors can gain this advice in a number of ways, either by selecting:
• the age of the child,• the height of the child,
• the child's key stage.
A number of different types of furniture are covered. However, in order to simplify access to information these are broken down into two basic types:
• standing height furniture; and
• sitting height furniture.
ie furniture used for activities when sitting down and furniture used for activities when standing up!
Each page covers a different furniture type or application and gives the relevant body dimension. Where furniture has a British or European Standard an information and advice box is given.
