advice for deep sink heights

for children in foundation

The height of bottom of deep sinks should be 450mm for children at Nursery.

for children in key stage 1

The height of bottom of deep sinks should be 500mm for children at Key stage 1.

for children in key stage 2

The height of bottom of deep sinks should be 600mm for children at Key stage 2.

for children at primary school
option one		If children in Key stages 1 and 2 use separate, follow instructions for Key stages 1 and 2.
option two		The height of bottom of deep sinks should be set at 500mm.
implications		Half of children may find the basin slightly too low. It is better to have the basins lower than higher, as the younger children using higher sinks can experience problems with reaching to taps.

for children in key stage 3

The height of bottom of deep sinks should be 700mm for children at Key stage 3.

for children in key stage 4

The height of bottom of deep sinks should be 750mm for children at Key stage 3.

for children at secondary school
